Aromatherapy is far more popular than one could have imagined when it started with what was an ancient practice. It has deep-seated roots in Ayurveda and modern science and the benefits are multifold for those who indulge in this art and therapy form.
Aromatherapy originated in ancient Eurasia with many practices of these seen with the royals and in the hospitals during warfare. Essential oils that are found in the market these days such as Love Thy Oils, form the heart for this ritualistic and holistic treatment approach. These oils are used either physically or as vapors diffused in the air for recreational and meditative purposes.
Aromatherapy has a multitude of benefits that are not limited to the mind and body but also to the soul. It refreshes, re-energizes, revitalizes, and refocusses an individual. Aromatherapy helps in realigning the mind’s stress patterns and relieves sore and tensed muscles in the body.
1. Aromatherapy Spas
Aromatherapy is widely used in spas and ayurvedic massage centers these days as part of their program as aromatherapy has been proven to have tremendous effects on the human brain and muscle function. This involves aromatic massage oils such as Love Thy Oils – which has a range of essential oils that can be used for massages, therapeutic saunas and healing meditations.
The practice of aromatherapy was found in traces across France, Greece, and Italy where prince and princess bathed in flowers and oils extracted from flowers and plants that had a pleasing and soothing effect, These were then concentrated further to fit in vials so as to be used as perfumes and roll-ons.
They were rubbed on body parts such as wrists and ears to help them keep smelling fresh and remain in a joyous mood all day. Perhaps this formed as an earlier inspiration to using aroma as a method for relieving stress and inducing a happy mood in people.
Aromatherapy was also used as a means to help patients and the wounded of the war in easing their pain and causing them to relax and heal. The first known book on Aromatherapy was based on a French chemist who used essential oils as a medicine form and applied them to patients so that they may remain calm and stress-free which in turn boosted their recovery and healing process.
